MINISTERIAL OBJECTIVE:
To go out into the hedges and highways compelling me, women, boys, and girls to come into the saving grace & knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
PROFESSIONAL:
On May 29, 1983, Dr. Edward E. Rodgers became the 7th pastor of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church-Hillman Station, determined to serve God by obeying the mandate as stated in Matthew 28:18-20.

A 1.2 Million dollar sanctuary completed in May 1992, and the Mortgage Burning in 1997.

A Food Bank Program which serves over 300 families with food begun in 1999.

A Foreign Mission Ministry in Bluefields, Nicaragua and the establishment of Hopewell International Baptist Church.

A Spring & Summer Camp Program (arts & crafts, recreational sports, field trips, computer training, culinary arts, agriculture, cultural arts, tutoring, mentoring.

In March 2003 a 1.6 million dollar Community Family Life Center erected with a

501 ( c ) 3 status which included an office complex, a commercial size kitchen, a library, exercise room, a computer lab, a gym and an inside walking track.

A Senior Citizen Day Program (catered hot meal, arts & craft, games social involvement, special services-health screenings)

A renovation project to renovate old houses in the community in order that families can become homeowners and revitalize the community.

Afterschool feeding program which serves over 1600 meals a day

Weekly Blood Pressure/Glucose screening.

Designated Red Cross Disaster Facility.
Pastor Rodgers has accomplished and received several honors. He is one of the Assistant Dean of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. He is the former Moderator of the Jefferson County District Association and former Vice-President at large of the Alabama State Convention, former Facilitator of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. & the Southwest Regional Conference. He attended the Birmingham Baptist College and graduated with the following honors and degrees: Bible Certificate, Bible Diploma, Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.), Bachelor of Theology degree (BTH). He is an alumni member and was honored with the Doctor of Divinity Degree (D.D.)
Pastor Rodgers is married to Mrs. Ida Little Rodgers and the father of five children and a grandfather.

Our vision is to meet the needs of fallen humanity.
